ALBANY, NY- Governor Kathy Hochul has announced the release of the nation\u2019s first statewide Host Community Investment Framework for Data Center Development.<\/p>\n
This development reflects a commitment via a Governor Hochcul Executive Order, reportedly providing local governments with critical guidance for any future negotiations with major tech companies and developers, a powerful tool to ensure communities are protected from exploitative data center projects and get the benefits they deserve.<\/p>\n
According to the Governor\u2019s Office, this Framework also ensures local communities can negotiate a deal that mitigates the negative effects of data centers and puts their communities and the families that live there first.<\/p>\n
