{"id":348190,"date":"2026-09-16T10:36:53","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T10:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/348190\/"},"modified":"2026-09-16T10:36:53","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T10:36:53","slug":"news-12-bronx-2-people-displaced-following-fire-at-north-merrick-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/348190\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Bronx | 2 People Displaced Following Fire At North Merrick Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Two people are out of their home after a fire in Nassau County late Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The North Merrick Fire Department responded to a 911 call for the blaze around 10 p.m. on Merrick Avenue in North Merrick.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Upon arrival, fire crews were met with active flames in the attic and on the 2nd floor of the house, fire officials say.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">It took approximately 75 firefighters, from seven local departments, an hour and a half to get the fire under control.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">There were two minor civilians hurt, but both people refused medical attention at the scene, according to the Nassau Fire Marshal\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The Red Cross is assisting two occupants who were displaced after the home was deemed uninhabitable.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the fire marshal and the Nassau Police Arson\/Bomb Squad. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Two people are out of their home after a fire in Nassau County late Tuesday night.
