{"id":348238,"date":"2026-09-16T11:42:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T11:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/348238\/"},"modified":"2026-09-16T11:42:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T11:42:12","slug":"news-12-brooklyn-vision-zero-reimagined-mayor-mamdani-unveils-10-year-street-safety-plan-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/348238\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Brooklyn | Vision Zero Reimagined Mayor Mamdani Unveils 10 Year Street Safety Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Mayor Zohran Mamdani has introduced a new 10-year plan aiming to reduce traffic deaths and injuries.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Vision Zero Reimagined includes more than 100 policies meant to improve upon the original initiative established 12 years ago.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Mamdani says law enforcement will crack down on dangerous drivers with a history of reckless and irresponsible behavior.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The plan features improved street designs, including the development of New York City\u2019s first pedestrian-only and pedestrian-priority districts.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Physical parking barriers and other safety items will be added to more than 1,000 intersections each year.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The initiative also aims to reduce crashes by improving bus commute speeds, bike travel prices and making it easier to walk throughout the city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Mayor Zohran Mamdani has introduced a new 10-year plan aiming to reduce traffic deaths and injuries.
