LONGWOOD, Bronx (PIX11) — Police are asking for help identifying people wanted in connection with a string of Bronx robberies.<\/p>\n
The NYPD says victims were targeted at gunpoint on the street.<\/p>\n
\u00a0More Local News\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n Police say there were eight incidents from Sept. 5 to 9.<\/p>\n One incident was reported near the Simpson Street station.<\/p>\n Based on the NYPD descriptions, most of the robberies involve suspects approaching people in public, like on the sidewalk or in the park, and stealing cell phones, cash, and wallets.<\/p>\n Several reported incidents were in the South and Southeast Bronx. The key neighborhoods are around Starlight Park, Hunts Point, and Longwood in the 41st, 42nd, and 43rd precincts.<\/p>\n Most of them happened early in the morning.<\/p>\n \u00a0More: Latest News from Around the Tri-State\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n Police have released videos and pictures of the people they are looking for in connection to these robberies.<\/p>\n In one case inside Starlight Park, police say a 22-year-old man was approached by two people who showed a knife and a gun, forcibly removed the victim’s cellphone and wallet, struck the victim in the face with the firearm, and then left the scene.<\/p>\n In another incident, in front of a home on Faile Street, a 45-year-old man was approached by two people, one on a bike and one on foot.<\/p>\n Police say they pointed a firearm at the victim and forcibly removed his wallet and about a thousand dollars.<\/p>\n No injuries were reported in most of these robberies.<\/p>\n Submit tips to police by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visiting\u00a0crimestoppers.nypdonline.org<\/a>, downloading the NYPD Crime Stoppers mobile app, or texting 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
