Sand Lake, NY (WRGB) \u2014 New York State Police are searching for a missing 17-year-old last seen near Garner Road in Sand Lake, warning the public to use caution as the teen may be experiencing a mental health crisis, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
On September 15, 2026, at about 4:20 p.m., State Police responded to a residence in the area of Garner Road for a report of a missing\/runaway 17-year-old.<\/p>\n
The teen, Ashton Cushman, is described as a white male with blonde hair who is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. He was last seen near Garner Road wearing a white T-shirt, black sweatpants and black flip-flops.<\/p>\n
According to authorities, Ashton may be suffering from a mental health crisis. It is unknown whether he is armed, but police said the public should not approach him. Anyone who sees him should call 911 immediately.<\/p>\n
State Police asked anyone with information about Ashton\u2019s location to call 518-457-6811 or email crimetip@troopers.ny.gov.<\/p>\n
State Police say residents should anticipate a heavy police presence in the area as the search continues.<\/p>\n
