The “NCIS<\/a>” franchise is adding a new show this fall with “NCIS: New York”\u00a0\u2014\u00a0and it’s getting right to work bringing in some old favorites.<\/p>\n

“NCIS”\u00a0cast member Brian Dietzen will guest-star on “NCIS: New York,”\u00a0reprising his role as medical examiner Jimmy Palmer, “New York”\u00a0executive producer\u00a0Byron Balasco shared with reporters at CBS’s virtual press day on Wednesday. And that’s not all:\u00a0“So\u00a0much of the DNA of this show was family, and we’re all in the same universe, so you can absolutely expect to see some familiar faces coming over to hang out with us for a while,”\u00a0Balasco added.<\/p>\n

So does that mean we might see some of Sam Hanna’s old friends from “NCIS: Los Angeles” pop in, like Chris O’Donnell’s G. Callen?\u00a0“He definitely does tap in with Callen from time to time,”\u00a0LL COOL J, who returns as Sam on “NCIS:\u00a0New York,”\u00a0reveals, “so those relationships are still alive. Byron and all of us have have spoken about welcoming characters from the other iterations of the franchise to New York, to be a part of what we’re doing. So I definitely welcome crossovers with all of the past characters that have been a part of this universe.”<\/p>\n

“NCIS: New York,”\u00a0first announced in April<\/a>, stars LL COOL J, reprising his “NCIS: Los Angeles”\u00a0role as special agent Sam Hanna. “Hawaii Five-0”\u00a0alum Scott Caan co-stars as Sam’s new partner Nick Schaeffer.\u00a0Jennifer Beals (“The L Word”)<\/a> plays Sam and Nick’s superior Robyn Wells, with Jacqueline Byers (“Dark Winds”) as special agent Addy Ross, Shane Harper (“Power Book IV: Force”) as special agent Wyatt Sellers, and Devin Druid (“13 Reasons Why”) as tech whiz Sean Sullivan.
