There\u2019s good news for pastry lovers in Westchester \u2013 Conti\u2019s Pastry Shoppe is set to open their new location in Eastchester in early 2027. Originally founded in 1921 by Augustino Conti, an Italian immigrant from Parma, Conti\u2019s Pastry Shoppe is currently owned by three first-generation Bronx-born and raised owners \u2013 Christina DiRusso, Safet Paljevic, and Senada Paljevic.<\/p>\n

A Bronx Legacy\u00a0<\/p>\n

Conti\u2019s Pastry Shoppe is one of the oldest bakeries in the Italian neighborhood of Morris Park. Known for its traditional Italian baked goods and pastries, the Paljevics and DiRusso still use all of Conti\u2019s original recipes from when the bakery first opened. The Bronx location retains many of its original details, including hand-stapled tin ceilings, wood walls, terrazzo floors, and even the original marble soda fountain that was installed in 1928.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe legacy that Conti\u2019s has in the Bronx is one that cannot be matched, from people in their 90s who still come here for their birthday cakes to newer clients that request cakes that defy gravity and continue to amaze us,\u201d says Arielle Ramirez, Conti\u2019s store manager.<\/p>\n

\"Cake<\/p>\n

Expanding to Westchester<\/p>\n

Growing the bakery\u2019s footprint has always been in the plans, but Ramirez notes that with the incredibly busy location in the Bronx, they had to be patient and wait for the ideal opportunity to expand. When they found the location on Mill Road, though, they knew it was the perfect time to bring Conti\u2019s north.<\/p>\n

\"Conti's<\/p>\n

Since they are completely remodeling and renovating the new Eastchester location, they don\u2019t anticipate opening their doors officially until some time in early 2027. That said, Ramirez shares that customers can expect to find the same traditional goodies that they have in their Bronx location, as well as customized cakes for birthdays, anniversaries, and other milestones available for purchase. Additionally, the new Conti\u2019s location will have a fully-equipped coffee bar.<\/p>\n

The Menu<\/p>\n

Ultimately, the Paljevic\u2019s and DiRusso plan to stay true to the original recipes that have satisfied the community for over 100 years, while also modernizing and adding their own spin to cater to younger generations.<\/p>\n

\u201cConti\u2019s is run by people who love what they do and have a passion for creating and baking,\u201d Ramirez says. \u201cWe are all from the Bronx, and our goal is to provide something different for our community. We hope that everyone enjoys our new location and appreciates all of the love and dedication that has been poured into Conti\u2019s Pastry Shoppe over the years. We\u2019ve been here for 100 years already, and we hope to be here serving the community for 100 more!\u201d<\/p>\n
