Cooler, drier weather will follow Friday and Saturday before rain returns for the latter part of the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n
Showers will likely start later Thursday and continue overnight as a cold front approaches the area. Rainfall amounts should be light, with less than a quarter inch expected. The showers should end early Friday morning as the cold front moves through. After that, drier air will move in.<\/p>\n
Temperatures will be cooler after the front passes, with morning lows possibly dropping into the low 60s.<\/p>\n
High pressure will build in the area Friday, bringing nice conditions, though Saturday\u2019s high temperatures may only reach the low 70s as winds shift from the east.<\/p>\n
By Saturday night, a warm front approaching from the west-southwest will bring more clouds, with rain likely by Sunday morning. Wet weather is expected to continue through Sunday before ending from northwest to southeast Sunday night.<\/p>\n
For New York City, forecasters expect a similar pattern: possible showers Thursday night ahead of the cold front, followed by cooler and less humid conditions Friday into Saturday. High temperatures Saturday may also stay in the upper 60s across the city before the next rainy weather arrives Saturday night into Sunday.<\/p>\n
Looking further ahead, forecasters are less certain about the start of next week, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n
Some forecasts suggest Monday could be mostly cloudy with most shower activity staying south of the area.
