{"id":349532,"date":"2026-09-17T19:41:03","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T19:41:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/349532\/"},"modified":"2026-09-17T19:41:03","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T19:41:03","slug":"woman-found-dead-with-back-wound-in-manhattans-highbridge-park-new-york-daily-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/349532\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman found dead with back wound in Manhattan\u2019s Highbridge Park \u2013 New York Daily News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A woman was found dead near a hiking trail in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nycgovparks.org\/parks\/highbridge-park\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">upper Manhattan park<\/a>, police said Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The woman, believed to be in her 40s, had a small wound on her back but police said an autopsy will determine if she was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/09\/03\/nyc-has-one-of-its-safest-summers-ever-but-subway-assaults-and-hate-crimes-are-up\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">victim of a crime.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>She was found in Highbridge Park, which runs nearly three miles from Washington Heights to Inwood, east of Amsterdam Ave. and abuts the Harlem River Drive, about 9:20 a.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>She was found face up in the southern half of the park.<\/p>\n<p>Cops are trying to determine her identity as the city Medical Examiner works to find her cause of death.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A woman was found dead near a hiking trail in an upper Manhattan park, police said Thursday.
