After three decades, Mr. Big is looking to get out of Greenwich Village. Chris Noth put his apartment<\/a> at 45 East 9th Street on the market this week and is asking $1.495 million for the one-bedroom, one-and-half-bath home.<\/p>\n

The apartment is tucked inside a 1925 neo-Renaissance building<\/a> designed by Harvey Wiley Corbett, with a prewar grandeur<\/a> that feels like catnip for a man with a penchant for cigars<\/a> and dirty vodka martinis<\/a>. The former Sex and the City actor purchased the unit in 1994, when he was known for his theater work and for portraying Detective Mike Logan on Law & Order. He would later count<\/a> SATC\u2019s creator and the real-life Carrie Bradshaw, Candace Bushnell, as his in-building neighbor, along with Hamish Bowles<\/a>, Jonathan Adler, and Simon Doonan. The archway-lined foyer leads into a sunken living room that has dark-stained built-ins, a wood-burning fireplace, and a trio of arched leaded windows. The bedroom is just fine, if a little spartan, with a leafy window view and some moldings, and the main bathroom has been given a spalike treatment. The kitchen apparently didn\u2019t warrant listing photos, but according to the floor plan, it\u2019s a windowed galley.<\/p>\n

Noth has largely kept out of the spotlight since 2021, when The Hollywood Reporter spoke<\/a> to a pair of women who alleged the actor sexually assaulted them (one alleged she was assaulted at Noth\u2019s Greenwich Village apartment in 2015). Afterward, he was dropped from the season finale of And Just Like That \u2026 and fired<\/a> from the television drama he was filming at the time. He has repeatedly denied the allegations, including in a bizarre USA Today interview<\/a> in 2023 that was part of a suit brand campaign for which he was paid in clothes. Noth surfaced earlier<\/a> this year, though, on \u2014\u00a0where else \u2014 a podcast to discuss the end of his friendship with Sarah Jessica Parker and the rest of the SATC crew after they publicly supported his accusers.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not clear why Noth is selling now, and Corcoran\u2019s Danny Davis, who has the listing, declined to comment. But his main family residence appears to be out West in Sherman Oaks, and his real-estate portfolio is otherwise fairly sprawling<\/a>, including a two-bed, two-bath on the Upper East Side and another home in the Berkshires. The actor did<\/a> recently post on Instagram that his older son, Orion, is heading off to college. (Noth and his wife, Tara Wilson, share another son, 6-year-old Keats.) Perhaps it was time to streamline his real-estate holdings, or maybe even former A-listers need a little extra cash to keep up with tuition costs<\/a>.<\/p>\n
