Peyton Miller, 18, and Brooklyn Raines, 21, earned their first call-ups to the U.S. Men’s National Team ahead of friendlies against Peru (Sept. 26), Chile (Sept. 29), Mexico (Oct. 3), and Canada (Oct. 6). <\/p>\n

Many more call-ups are expected to follow.<\/p>\n

Both players have excelled as youth internationals, each compiling over 20 caps.<\/p>\n

Miller featured at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup and 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup. In June, he logged 90 minutes with the U-21s, securing a 3-1 win over Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Raines starred at the 2024 Concacaf U-20 Championship and the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where he scored and assisted in a 3-0 win over France. He wore the captain’s armband for the U-21s in friendlies against Serbia and Denmark last November.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The duo is currently experiencing career years with the New England Revolution under the guidance of Marko Mitrovic, who coached them at the U-20 World Cup.<\/p>\n

Miller, largely playing as an attacker, has five goals and four assists in 23 appearances, while Raines has one goal and two assists in 23 starts.<\/p>\n

“Both of them have taken the next steps in their careers this year, but if you look at their overall journeys, this is just one part of them,” Mitrovic said. “They have to keep going, keep developing, and keep getting better. <\/p>\n

“I know this is a great opportunity for them and maybe a confirmation of where they are currently, but I also believe they’re not going to take it for granted. This isn’t just about receiving a call-up. It’s about becoming a consistent national team player and taking the necessary steps to stay there.”<\/p>\n

The upcoming international window is a benchmark moment as they look to earn a spot at the 2030 World Cup.<\/p>\n

Raines recently recounted watching Paraguay defeat Germany in the World Cup Round of 32 game at Gillette Stadium. He couldn’t help but think that he could be on the biggest stage in four years.<\/p>\n

There’s a lot of time between now and then, but Mitrovic believes that the talented youngsters have all the tools to make the U.S. roster.<\/p>\n

“Do I believe both of them can be part of the 2030 World Cup? I do,” Mitrovic said. “I think both have very high ceilings and are national team profile players. They have the talent and potential to get there. But, as I said, they still have a long way to go to become consistent national team players. <\/p>\n

“What I love and appreciate is the way they approach every day, how they take care of themselves, and how they’re trying to become the best versions of themselves.
