We are rolling back to last year\u2019s prices plus an average increase of 12%,\u201d Madison Square Garden Sports said in a statement. \u201cWe will restart sales with new prices shortly, and anyone who already purchased individual tickets will be refunded the difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Opening Night tickets went on sale Wednesday afternoon on Ticketmaster, where tickets in Section 418 \u2014 the skybox \u2014 started at $1,039.50 per seat. MSG set ticket prices in the 300s at the $1,550 range and over $2,000 for seats in the 200s.<\/p>\n<p>At that amount, the average opening-night ticket price would run the everyday Knicks fan north of $2,500.<\/p>\n<p>The most expensive court-side seats on Ticketmaster ranged from $27,000 to $53,000 Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The price hike, which followed an end to the team\u2019s 53-year championship drought, outraged fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLoyal Knicks fans supported this franchise through two decades of darkness\u2026 losing season after losing season,\u201d Knicks fan <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TommyBeer\/status\/2100266522706845833?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">Tommy Beer wrote on X<\/a> Wednesday. \u201cA multibillion-dollar franchise pricing its own non-wealthy fans out of the Garden on a night the fanbase has been dreaming about for 50 years.
