NBAE via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Fans who already purchased individual tickets will be refunded the difference to the roughly 12% increase.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pausing\u00a0Knicks\u00a0individual\u00a0ticket sales due to\u00a0a\u00a0mistake in our pricing,\u201d an MSG spokesperson told The Post. \u201cWe are rolling back to\u00a0last year\u2019s\u00a0prices\u00a0plus\u00a0an average increase of 12%.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will\u00a0restart\u00a0sales\u00a0with new prices\u00a0shortly,\u00a0and anyone who\u00a0already\u00a0purchased\u00a0individual tickets\u00a0will be\u00a0refunded\u00a0the\u00a0difference.\u00a0Our intention was never to overcharge our loyal fans, and we thank everyone for their support of the Knicks and their patience as we get this right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In other words, the prices will drop dramatically from the $2,500 average initially released for opening night.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"   data-modal-image=\"40860999\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/fans-cheer-second-quarter-jason-130323177.jpg\" alt=\"Fans cheer during the second quarter of Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the Knicks and Spurs.\" class=\"wp-image-40860999\"\/>Fans cheer during the second quarter of Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the Knicks and Spurs. Jason Szenes for the New York Post<\/p>\n<p>A source close to the situation said the pricing error was a first-time mistake for MSG and it was never the intent to price gouge fans after a championship season.<\/p>\n<p>Under owner James Dolan, the Garden\u2019s policy was to not raise prices if the team failed to qualify for the postseason. But upticks have become commonplace since Jalen Brunson\u2019s arrival, with the Knicks advancing to the playoffs in four straight years \u2013 including last season\u2019s title run.<\/p>\n<p>The result is expensive tickets at MSG for Knicks games \u2014 just not as expensive as the prices mistakenly listed Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>MSG and the Knicks have tried to counter price gouging with their Fan First program, which is intended to weed out the marauding brokers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Knicks committed a ticketing turnover and are working to get back possession of more affordable prices.
