City billionaire WABC radio owner John Catsimatidis<\/a> and ex-Gov. David Paterson<\/a> took turns over the weekend pounding former show-host Curtis Sliwa<\/a> for \u201cshooting off his mouth\u2019\u2019 and ruining the mayoral race.<\/p>\n

Sliwa, the Republican<\/a> candidate for mayor, only received 7% of the vote in last week\u2019s election \u2014 but critics had previously demanded he drop out of the running to try to help centrist Dem Andrew Cuomo<\/a> beat the eventual winner, radical Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was very disappointed in Curtis \u2013 how he was just shooting off his mouth,\u201d said Catsimatids, the host of 77 WABC\u2019s the \u201cCats Roundtable,\u201d on Sunday. I have known him for a long time. He\u2019s a good person. But I was disappointed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Catsimatidis was among those who tried to persuade Sliwa, his former radio host employee, to suspend his campaign and back Cuomo.<\/p>\n

Sliwa refused<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Paterson piled on Sliwa on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t even talk about the issues in the last couple of weeks. He talked about himself. And he talked himself into 7% of the total vote,\u201d Paterson said of the Guardian Angel founder.<\/p>\n

\u201cCurtis has really got to start thinking about what he says when he opens his mouth these days. Because he\u2019s really antagonized a lot of people and didn\u2019t help the possibility [of Cuomo winning].\u201d<\/p>\n

President Trump<\/a>, the defacto head of the Republican Party, even said Sliwa had no shot to win and that his presence in the race would only benefit Mamdani \u2014 leading him to endorse<\/a> Cuomo, saying he preferred a \u201cbad Democrat\u201d over a \u201ccommunist.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Sliwa scoffed at all the criticism to The Post, pointing out that Democratic nominee and now Mayor-elect Mamdani received just over 50% of the vote so the extremist mayor-elect would have won against Cuomo anyway.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey can\u2019t add. They must have failed math in school. They need remedial math,\u201d Sliwa said of Catsimatidis and Paterson.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf every one of my supporters voted for Cuomo, Mamdani still would have won. Shame on [Catsimatidis and Paterson]. I deserve an apology.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sliwa said he won\u2019t return to <\/a>WABC radio after Catsimatidis and his radio hosts turned against him and did Cuomo\u2019s bidding.<\/p>\n

He claimed he will never listen to WABC radio ever again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI listen to WOR radio,\u201d Sliwa said.<\/p>\n
