(Our video is from Friday night before police released this new information.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Around 1pm emergency crews were called to the intersection of Mixer Road and County Route 79.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police say its investigation shows the driver of a white SUV, James Sturges, was making a turn at the intersection and pulled into the path of the truck being driven by 26-year-old Rickey Nickerson of Henderson. A passenger in the truck is identified as 23-year-old Garrett White. Both were treated at the scene and released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police say the truck and trailer are owned by Birch Creek Farms of Ellisburg and were hauling silage at the time of the collision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sturges was removed from his vehicle and taken to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown where he later died, according to deputies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Sheriff\u2019s Office was helped at the scene by Belleville, Adams, and Ellisburg Fire Departments, the New York State Police and its Commercial Vehicle Unit, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Spill Response, South Jeff and Henderson Ambulance, LifeNet air medical transport, and Derrigo\u2019s Service Center.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWNY.
