The monster accused of fatally beating Lovay Williams<\/a> in front of her 7-year-old daughter earlier this month tried to turn himself in at a Washington Heights NYPD stationhouse, but was shown the exit instead, The Post has learned.\u00a0<\/p>\n Tiliek Shamel Thompson and his two sisters went to the 33rd Precinct station around 5 a.m. on Sept. 11, but officers dropped the ball, the NYPD acknowledged.<\/p>\n An unidentified aunt, left, and victim Lovay Williams are shown in a photo taken on Christmas Day. Obtained by NY Post<\/p>\n \u201cHis two sisters said, \u2018You\u2019re looking for him,\u2019\u201d lawyer Neville Onielle Dexter Mitchell said, explaining that the sisters told cops they were there about Williams\u2019 death.\u00a0<\/p>\n The cop who was at the desk said, \u201cI just came back from vacation. Nobody\u2019s here,\u201d according to Mitchell.<\/p>\n But an NYPD spokeswoman who reviewed audio and video of the encounter disputed that narrative and said the family didn\u2019t tell the police officer that cops were looking for Thompson.<\/p>\n The cop misunderstood and thought the three were members of the murder victim\u2019s family, the spokeswoman said, adding that the officer passed that information onto his sergeant. <\/p>\n The cop mentioned his vacation to explain that he was away when Williams was murdered, the spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n The cop then gave one of the sisters a phone number for squad detectives and sent the group on its way.\u00a0<\/p>\n Lovay Williams\u2019 body was discovered alongside her unharmed 7-year-old child in their apartment. Obtained by NY Post<\/p>\n Thompson, who police sources said was listed as a \u201cperson of interest\u201d in the killing, went back and successfully turned himself in to police on Saturday night<\/a>. <\/p>\n He was charged with murder.<\/p>\n Williams, 27, was found dead in her apartment on 156th Street on Sept. 6 with trauma to her face and neck. She was declared dead at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n Her 7-year-old daughter was found unharmed<\/a> in the apartment, the family confirmed. Mango for NY Post \/ pool photo<\/p>\n Current and former police officers were disgusted that an accused murderer was permitted to walk out of the precinct.<\/p>\n \u201cIf he went there and said he was there to turn himself in, they should have investigated,\u201d said a senior police officer, who asked to remain anonymous because he wasn\u2019t allowed to talk to the media.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d say you should hold the guy and investigate further,\u201d the officer said. \u201cEven if detectives aren\u2019t there, you can call them.
