David Burns\/@FD4D<\/p>\n<p>The blaze traveled from one restaurant into the adjoining two eateries, FDNY officials <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KzPyEZcsTNY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">said at a press conference.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Firefighters issued a Mayday call after a smoke explosion erupted about 35 minutes into the operation, the FDNY said.<\/p>\n<p>A smoke explosion erupted 35 minutes into fire operations, the FDNY said.  David Burns\/@FD4D<\/p>\n<p>No restaurant patrons were inside of the building at the time of the explosion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There was also a localized collapse on the roof at one point which forced firefighters to evacuate from the building before going back in to extinguish the blaze.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The massive inferno was under control around 8:30 p.m., fire officials said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Six firefighters sustained minor injuries.
