{"id":351670,"date":"2026-09-20T13:42:24","date_gmt":"2026-09-20T13:42:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/351670\/"},"modified":"2026-09-20T13:42:24","modified_gmt":"2026-09-20T13:42:24","slug":"loaded-gun-drugs-seized-during-syracuse-traffic-stop-3-gouverneur-men-charged","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/351670\/","title":{"rendered":"Loaded gun, drugs seized during Syracuse traffic stop; 3 Gouverneur men charged"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">SYRACUSE, New York (WWNY) &#8211; Three north country men face felony weapon and drug charges after a traffic stop Wednesday night on South Avenue in Syracuse, according to New York State Police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">State Police said members of the Community Stabilization Unit stopped a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck around 7:19 p.m. on Wednesday for multiple traffic violations. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">During the stop, rear passenger Troy Brothers, 27, of Gouverneur, ran from the truck before being taken into custody. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to State Police, troopers on scene saw what appeared to be a handgun in the backseat. It was later determined to be a BB gun.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">During a search of the vehicle, troopers found a loaded .22-caliber revolver, along with suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The driver, Ryan Rose, 24, of Gouverneur, faces multiple felony weapons counts, aggravated unlicensed operation, drug possession, and four traffic citations; he was held at the Onondaga County Justice Center awaiting arraignment. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Brothers and a third passenger, Jason A. Guinup, 46, of Gouverneur were charged with felony evidence tampering and drug possession. They were issued appearance tickets for Syracuse City Court in October.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWNY.
