EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. \u2013 A sloppy game Sunday turned into a back-and-forth fourth quarter that eventually went to overtime, and the Packers drove 58 yards for the game-winning field goal to beat the Jets, 20-17, at MetLife Stadium.<\/p>\n
The Packers trailed 17-7 in the fourth quarter and rallied on the strength of a TD pass to WR Christian Watson<\/a> and then a game-tying field goal. Green Bay’s defense gave the offense a chance at midfield at the end of regulation with a fourth-and-1 stop, but the Packers couldn’t capitalize and the game went to overtime.<\/p>\n In the OT, Green Bay’s defense sacked Jets QB Geno Smith twice during a three-and-out. Once the Packers took over, they swiftly moved into scoring range thanks to an 11-yard run by RB Kaleb Johnson<\/a>, a 15-yard swing pass to RB Chris Brooks<\/a> (that had 15 yards tacked on for a late hit) and a 14-yard completion to WR Matthew Golden<\/a> to get inside the 10-yard line.<\/p>\n The Packers sent out rookie K Trey Smack<\/a> at that point, and he made the 26-yard walk-off kick with 5:23 left in OT.<\/p>\n Plagued by injuries, penalties and sloppy play for much of three quarters, the Packers turned things around to even their season at 1-1. The Jets are also 1-1.<\/p>\n QB Jordan Love<\/a> finished 16-of-29 for 145 yards with two TDs and a 91.9 passer rating. Johnson had eight carries for 32 yards. Golden had four catches for 58 yards, while Watson had four catches for 41 yards and a score.<\/p>\n The Packers lost WR Jayden Reed<\/a> (neck), T Zach Bako-Bewele<\/a> (knee), G Aaron Banks<\/a> (toe) and G Donovan Jennings<\/a> (hand) to injuries during the game.<\/p>\n For the Jets, Smith was 27-of-41 for 247 yards with one TD and a 90.2 passer rating.
