{"id":352196,"date":"2026-09-21T06:06:11","date_gmt":"2026-09-21T06:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/352196\/"},"modified":"2026-09-21T06:06:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T06:06:11","slug":"clarke-schmidt-kept-out-of-yankees-loss-after-feeling-biceps-cramping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/352196\/","title":{"rendered":"Clarke Schmidt kept out of Yankees loss after feeling biceps cramping"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX \u2014 Add another concern to the Yankees\u2019 already hefty list of them heading into the final week of the regular season.<\/p>\n<p>Clarke Schmidt, who returned from Tommy John surgery on Wednesday, was warming up Sunday to make his second appearance before experiencing cramping in his right biceps, which ultimately <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/09\/20\/sports\/yankees-al-east-chances-slipping-away-after-loss-to-diamondbacks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">kept him out of the Yankees\u2019 8-4 loss<\/a> to the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNothing structural, it was more precautionary,\u201d Schmidt said. \u201cObviously given the circumstance, coming back from surgery, I don\u2019t want to push through anything. All the testing was fine, nothing with the shoulder, nothing with the elbow. It was more a cramping-type feeling. I had nothing in catch play earlier today and in the previous days I\u2019ve been feeling very strong.
