The killer may have been trying to steal the victim&#8217;s scooter, police sources said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;It was two shots,&#8221; said a female resident of the Ocean Bay houses in Edgemere. &#8220;He fell out in the walkway over there by the basketball court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;He was face up, not moving,&#8221; she said &#8220;he was bleeding from the chest.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Medics rushed the boy to Cohen Children&#8217;s Hospital, where he later died. His name was not immediately released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">His killer, who was wearing a black sweatshirt and white shorts, fled on a scooter, police sources said. He has not been caught.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;He lived here all his life,&#8221; the female resident said. &#8220;And everybody was saying, don&#8217;t talk, don&#8217;t say anything.
