GE Aerospace is investing $225 million into its Niskayuna Research Center.\u00a0<\/p>\n
New York state is contributing $8.4 million in tax breaks toward the project through Empire State Development, while the Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority is chipping in incentives valued at $5.3 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The project is aimed at modernizing research at the facility and improving infrastructure. It’s expected to bring 75 new full-time jobs to the region. Work is slated to begin immediately.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe future of flight is developed through rigorous scientific and technical pursuit spanning decades,” said Joseph Vinciquerra, general manager and senior executive director of GE Aerospace Research. “We are ready to turn this investment into breakthroughs that will define the next era of aviation.”<\/p>\n
