BRONX (WABC) — A man convicted of assault for slashing an MTA conductor in the face is scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday in Bronx Supreme Criminal Court.<\/p>\n
The sentencing for Isaiah Thompson, 30, is set for 10 a.m. at the Bronx Hall of Justice.<\/p>\n
According to prosecutors, the attack happened on June 10, 2025 on a No. 6 train. The conductor, a 36-year-old mother, had reopened train doors for Thompson at the Morrison Avenue-Soundview station after seeing him run up the stairs.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors said Thompson became angry after the conductor made a customary announcement instructing passengers to stand clear of the closing doors.<\/p>\n
Authorities said Thompson then rode the train two stops to the Whitlock Avenue station, got off and grabbed the conductor before slashing her with a sharp object.<\/p>\n
Thompson was charged with 28 counts, including assault and weapons possession, in connection with the attack. Prosecutors described him as a repeat offender with arrests tied to crimes in the subway system dating back to 2019.<\/p>\n
Members and officers of TWU Local 100 are expected to attend the sentencing.<\/p>\n
