Troopers will also be paying close attention to drivers who violate New York\u2019s Move Over Law.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790087651_906_attachment-found-2026-02-08t130456-602.jpg\" alt=\"New York State Police Traffic Stop\" loading=\"lazy\" onload=\"this.parentNode.parentNode.classList.add('frame-loaded');\" onerror=\"this.parentNode.parentNode.classList.add('broken-image');\" fetchpriority=\"low\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\"\/>New York State Police Via FacebookNew York State Police Traffic StopNew York State Police Target Speeders<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/troopers.ny.gov\/news\/state-police-announce-start-fall-safe-speed-traffic-enforcement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">State Police<\/a>, troopers will be using both marked State Police vehicles and Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement, or CITE, vehicles during the six-day campaign. The CITE vehicles are designed to blend in with everyday traffic, allowing troopers to more easily identify motorists who are breaking the law. Once the emergency lights are activated, the vehicles become unmistakable as emergency vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/hudsonvalleycountry.com\/new-york-state-police-labor-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">State Police Hand Out More Than 11,000 Tickets Across New York<\/a><\/p>\n<p>State Police say speeding by all types of vehicles will be heavily enforced during the campaign, along with other traffic violations.<\/p>\n<p>Speeding is a contributing factor in nearly one-third of all fatal crashes across New York State. Data from the Institute for Traffic Safety Management and Research at the University at Albany shows just how serious the problem can be. In 2024, there were 315 fatal crashes and 12,232 people were injured in speed-related crashes across New York.<\/p>\n<p>Speeding won&#8217;t be the only thing troopers are watching for during the Fall Safe Speed campaign.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790087651_862_attachment-found-2025-08-14t091212-713.jpg\" alt=\"New York State Police Pulls Driver Over\" loading=\"lazy\" onload=\"this.parentNode.parentNode.classList.add('frame-loaded');\" onerror=\"this.parentNode.parentNode.classList.add('broken-image');\" fetchpriority=\"low\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1067\"\/>New York State Police Via FacebookNew York State Police Pulls Driver OverOther Traffic Violations Targeted<\/p>\n<p>Troopers will also be looking for distracted and impaired drivers, motorists who are not properly buckled up, and drivers who fail to follow New York&#8217;s Move Over Law.
