ZUMAPRESS.com<\/p>\n<p>The 90-minute meeting focused on immigration and a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/09\/21\/us-news\/mamdani-pitches-trump-on-major-nyc-project-and-admits-housing-development-has-significant-way-to-go\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Queens housing project<\/a> for which Mamdani is seeking federal help, with Trump also sharing memories of Gracie Mansion.<\/p>\n<p>The socialist mayor and the president, a conservative Republican, struck up an unusual friendship after a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/26\/us-news\/mamdani-makes-secret-trip-to-washington-dc-to-meet-with-trump\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">White House meeting in February<\/a>, with Trump telling reporters, \u201cI think he\u2019s a nice guy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani later called the encounter \u201ca productive meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Following Monday\u2019s Big Apple reunion, Trump again had kind words for Mamdani.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve seen it with numerous different mayors, and I said some great ones and some not so great ones,\u201d he told Mamdani in front of reporters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanna support you, help me.
