{"id":353708,"date":"2026-09-22T17:18:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T17:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/353708\/"},"modified":"2026-09-22T17:18:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T17:18:12","slug":"83-year-old-new-hartford-woman-killed-in-hounsfield-crash-state-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/353708\/","title":{"rendered":"83-year-old New Hartford woman killed in Hounsfield crash, state police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">TOWN OF HOUNSFIELD, New York (WWNY) &#8211; An 83-year-old woman died after a two-vehicle crash Friday at the intersection of State Route 3 and County Route 66, according to New York State Police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">State police responded to the crash at about 4:49 p.m. on September 18.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A preliminary investigation found a 2016 Honda Fit, driven by Mary Lou Alexander, 83, of New Hartford, was headed north on County Route 66 and tried to cross State Route 3 onto State Route 180. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Alexander\u2019s vehicle did not stop at a stop sign and moved into the path of a 2024 Honda CR-V, driven by Paula Edwards, 55, of Sackets Harbor, who was heading east on State Route 3. The two vehicles collided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Both drivers were taken to Samaritan Medical Center. Alexander was later pronounced dead at the hospital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Edwards suffered serious injuries that are not considered life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">State police say the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 WWNY.
