{"id":353788,"date":"2026-09-22T18:50:51","date_gmt":"2026-09-22T18:50:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/353788\/"},"modified":"2026-09-22T18:50:51","modified_gmt":"2026-09-22T18:50:51","slug":"nypd-releases-pic-of-suspect-in-shooting-of-14-year-old-queens-boy-during-scooter-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/353788\/","title":{"rendered":"NYPD releases pic of suspect in shooting of 14-year-old Queens boy during scooter robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NYPD has released a photo of the suspect in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/09\/21\/boy-14-shot-to-death-in-queens-during-possible-scooter-theft\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fatal shooting of a 14-year-old Queens boy<\/a> fleeing on the victim\u2019s scooter.<\/p>\n<p>Malakai Adams was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/2026\/09\/22\/14-year-old-queens-boy-shot-to-death-by-crook-over-scooter-was-full-of-life-family-says\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">shot to death<\/a> on Beach Channel Drive near Beach 51st St. in the Edgemere neighborhood of the Rockaways about 3:30 p.m. Monday, cops said. The killer stole the victim\u2019s scooter but it wasn\u2019t clear if the robbery was the sole motive for the slaying, police sources said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dHe was full of life, like any other kid,\u201d Malakai\u2019s aunt Ashley Adams said in an exclusive interview. \u201cThe family is grieving really hard right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was last seen headed east on Norton Ave. wearing a black hoodie and face mask, black-and-gray pants and red-and-white sneakers, cops said. Cops are asking the public\u2019s help identifying him and tracking him down.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information is asked to call <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/nypd\/services\/see-say-something\/crimestoppers.page\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Crime Stoppers<\/a> at (800) 577-TIPS.
