While throwing a pass to tight end Theo Johnson, Dart was sandwiched between Los Angeles Rams\u2019 defenders Byron Young and Josaiah Stewart, with his left knee inverting awkwardly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">Dart limped off the field under his own power, and was on the sideline in street clothes during the second half of the 28-6 loss to the Rams. The injury was initially believed to be a sprained MCL.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter is reporting that <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AdamSchefter\/status\/2102467323315560526\" rel=\"nofollow\">Dart could be facing surgery<\/a>, and said that \u201cOf all the QB injuries suffered in Week 2, Dart\u2019s is turning out to easily be the most significant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1upudxki _174s0un1 _174s0un0 _1mt21p01\">The Giants were looking like a potential playoff contender after Dart completed 23 of 29 for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns while also running 11 times for 54 yards in a season-opening 28-20 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
