Isiah Thompson, the man convicted of slashing an MTA conductor across the face<\/a> last year, was sentenced to six years in prison by a Bronx judge on Tuesday \u2014 a sentence the conductor called \u201can insult.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thompson was found guilty in July on charges he brutally attacked Lynette Pierce, a No. 6 train conductor, in June 2025.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors said Thompson yelled at the 36-year-old mother of two shortly after she reopened the train doors for him at the Morrison Ave.-Soundview station in the Bronx.<\/p>\n

Thompson boarded the train, prosecutors said, and screamed, \u201cShut the f\u2014 up!<\/a> Don\u2019t tell me what to do!\u201d after hearing the routine announcement to stand clear of the closing doors.<\/p>\n

Upon getting off the train two stops later, Thompson approached the conductor\u2019s window, grabbed Pierce, and slashed her in her face, underneath her left eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not the sentence that my office asked for,\u201d Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark said of the six-year bit Tuesday. \u201cWe asked for the maximum sentence of seven years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe still believe justice will be served,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Thompson\u2019s attorney had asked the court to sentence him to the minimum, five years.<\/p>\n

Pierce, who addressed reporters after the sentencing, called the six-year sentence \u201ca slap on the wrist.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGod consistently reminded me that I worked this hard to get this far for a purpose,\u201d Pierce said. \u201cAll of that was taken from me because of a coward, someone who consistently attacks women.\u201d<\/p>\n

As previously reported by the Daily News, police said that Thompson had previously been arrested 18 times for a variety of criminal offenses, mostly in the subway system.<\/p>\n

Clark said Thompson has three prior felony convictions, including an attempted assault in Brooklyn in which he pushed a woman into a stationary subway car.<\/p>\n

\u201c(For Thompson) to be slapped on the wrist with six years is an insult,\u201d Pierce said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one understands the pain until they go through it,\u201d the conductor added. \u201cI need everyone to understand, we are human beings.\u201d<\/p>\n

John Chiarello, president of Transport Workers Union Local 100, took aim at the judge, saying those who don\u2019t apply the maximum sentence in cases like Thompson\u2019s \u201cshould be ashamed of themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat kind of justice is this?\u201d he said. \u201cSix years is a walk in the park.\u201d<\/p>\n
