Tech also held Queens (2-6-1) scoreless, recording its third shutout of the season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hokiesports.com\/sports\/mens-soccer\/roster\/player\/noe-uwimana\" title=\"Noe Uwimana\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Noe Uwimana<\/a> opened the scoring in the 10th minute, converting a penalty kick at 9:03 to give the Hokies an early 1-0 advantage.<\/p>\n<p>The Hokies continued to apply pressure in the second half before doubling their lead in the 80th minute. <a href=\"https:\/\/hokiesports.com\/sports\/mens-soccer\/roster\/player\/mehdi-kettani\" title=\"Mehdi Kettani\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mehdi Kettani<\/a> found the back of the net in the 80th minute for his second goal of the season, extending Virginia Tech\u2019s lead to 2-0.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/hokiesports.com\/sports\/mens-soccer\/roster\/player\/luke-hamel\" title=\"Luke Hamel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luke Hamel<\/a> added an insurance goal less than seven minutes later, scoring at 86:39 to give the Hokies a three-goal cushion. The goal was Hamel\u2019s second of the season.<\/p>\n<p>UP NEXT<br \/>Virginia Tech hosts No. 3 SMU for a 4 p.m. match on Sunday, Sept. 27.
