The campaign went up this week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/mozillas-new-ad-campaign-features-posters-criticizing-big-tech-execs-2026-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Business Insider reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation is the nonprofit that owns Mozilla Corporation, the maker of Firefox. Its posters set the work of Musk, Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos against projects from its own fellows.<\/p>\n<p>The aim is to draw attention to those fellows and get people to share the posters online.<\/p>\n<p>One of them is Rose Njeri Tunguru, a software developer based in Nairobi. As part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozillafoundation.org\/en\/what-we-do\/grantmaking\/fellowship\/2026-mozilla-fellows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mozilla fellowship<\/a>, she is building Open Elections Kenya. The platform maps and checks data for each polling station ahead of Kenya\u2019s 2027 elections.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we really wanted to do was poke a hole in the mythology that tech innovation happens in one particular way,\u201d Ziyaad Bhorat, Mozilla\u2019s vice president of imagination and strategic growth, told Business Insider.<\/p>\n<p>The poster about Zuckerberg refers to Meta\u2019s camera glasses, which some people have used to secretly <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/news\/meta-smart-glasses-privacy-crisis-apple-google-snap\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">film strangers\u00a0<\/a>and prank shop workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMark gets into eyewear\u201d and \u201cmakes creepers, peepers,\u201d the poster reads.<\/p>\n<p>In July, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/instagram-meta-glasses-banning-pickup-prank-creeps-2026-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said the platform<\/a>\u00a0would remove videos of people being secretly filmed and harassed.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, a Meta spokesperson told Business Insider that the company disables the camera on glasses when the user removes the <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/news\/meta-ray-ban-privacy-light-fix-cameraless\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recording light<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mozilla is using wild postings, where posters are stuck on walls and barriers rather than on billboards.<\/p>\n<p>Some posters are near the United Nations headquarters, where the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/high-level-week-2026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">General Assembly<\/a>\u00a0is meeting this week. Others are in Hudson Yards, NoHo and Dumbo, areas where many tech workers are based.<\/p>\n<p>Mozilla is also paying influencers to visit the sites and post about them on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that this campaign will be a little bit provocative, and we\u2019re hoping that then leads to more people sharing it and getting the message out,\u201d Emma Bates, who advised Mozilla on the campaign, told Business Insider.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign comes as many Americans are wary of AI.
