{"id":354711,"date":"2026-09-23T15:50:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T15:50:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/354711\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T15:50:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T15:50:10","slug":"news-12-bronx-1-person-killed-11-others-injured-after-flames-rip-through-apartments-in-morris-heights-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/354711\/","title":{"rendered":"News 12 | Bronx | 1 Person Killed 11 Others Injured After Flames Rip Through Apartments In Morris Heights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Officials say one person has died and 11 others were injured, including four firefighters, after a fire ripped through two apartments in Morris Heights.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The FDNY responded to the fire at 1484 Montgomery Ave. at 7:45 a.m. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The fire broke out in an apartment on the fourth floor and extended to an adjoining apartment. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The fire escalated to a two-alarm fire at 8:20 a.m. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">One person was transported by EMS to Jacobi Hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, but they later died of their injuries. <\/p>\n<p><img data-rich-text-asset-image=\"true\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790178610_950_Screenshot_2026-09-23_090001.png\"   alt=\"Screenshot 2026-09-23 090001.png\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"\/><\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">Another person is in critical condition. Fire officials say that person jumped from a window trying to escape. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">All four firefighters that were injured are expected to recover. <\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">About 141 fire and EMS personnel responded to the flames.
