{"id":354749,"date":"2026-09-23T16:30:12","date_gmt":"2026-09-23T16:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/354749\/"},"modified":"2026-09-23T16:30:12","modified_gmt":"2026-09-23T16:30:12","slug":"one-dead-in-apartment-fire-in-the-bronx-multiple-firefighters-and-residents-hurt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/354749\/","title":{"rendered":"One dead in apartment fire in the Bronx, multiple firefighters and residents hurt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One person was killed and another badly hurt in a fire at a Bronx apartment building Wednesday morning, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/fdny\/index.page\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">FDNY<\/a> officials said.<\/p>\n<p>At least seven others, including two firefighters, were less seriously injured after the blaze broke out about 7:45 a.m. on Montgomery Ave. near W. 174th St. in Morris Heights.<\/p>\n<p>One person died at the scene, while a person in critical condition and the less seriously hurt victims were all taken to local hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the fire in the fourth-floor apartment in the six-story building is under investigation.
