Two suspects from West Orange and Livingston were arrested \u2013 a third remains at large.<\/p>\n<p>Sep 23, 2026 2:16 PM EDT | Updated Sep 23, 2026 2:30 PM EDT<\/p>\n<p>ESSEX COUNTY, NJ \u2014 Three people have been accused of kidnapping a man in New York City, robbing and assaulting him during a trip through the Lincoln Tunnel, and dumping the blood-covered victim in North Jersey, authorities announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The incident began on June 12 outside a club in Midtown Manhattan and ended in West Orange, according to the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-subscribe\">\n  <a class=\"article-subscribe-link\" href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/new-jersey\/westorange\/subscribe?utm_source=amp&amp;utm_campaign=subscribe&amp;utm_medium=mobile&amp;utm_term=subscribe_in_article\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Subscribe<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>Two New Jersey residents have been arrested in connection with the assault, prosecutors said: Kenny Fetiere, 26, of West Orange, and Kibret Meles, 28, of Livingston.<\/p>\n<p>A third suspect \u2013 Dani Amanuel, 28, a New York City resident \u2013 remains at large, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors allege that Fetiere, Meles and Amanuel lured the victim into a car outside the club, telling him that they were giving him a ride to his hotel. Instead, they restrained him once he got inside the car and drove through the Lincoln Tunnel to New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>Along the way, the assailants demanded that the victim hand over his watch and iPhone. Then they beat him and attacked him with a sharp object \u2013 leaving him with multiple facial fractures, a cut to his finger that required stitches, and bruising, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The trio allegedly drove to West Orange and abandoned the wounded victim, who was hospitalized for three days after the attack, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n<p>Fetiere, Meles and Amanuel have each been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and kidnapping, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n<p>No additional details were immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>Send local news tips and correction requests to eric.kiefer@patch.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The victim was abandoned in Essex County.
