NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — One person was killed and 10 others injured in a fire at a Bronx apartment building on Wednesday, the FDNY said, and authorities are investigating whether a man sparked the blaze.<\/p>\n

The inferno erupted at a six-story apartment building at 1484 Montgomery Ave. in Morris Heights around 7:45 a.m.<\/p>\n

Ring doorbell footage provided by a resident showed a man in the hallway holding a flaming object before the fire broke out.<\/p>\n

Several residents identified him as someone who lived in the building.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m above the guy who set the fire,\u201d one woman said. \u201cI woke up to him screaming. He threw himself out the window. I ran to my kids’ room. When I opened the door, I saw all the smoke. My kids were screaming so I told them to get out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sources said authorities are investigating if a man in the building started the fire.<\/p>\n

According to the FDNY, one person was killed and 10 more were injured, including six civilians and four firefighters. The person who died was a resident of the building, officials said.<\/p>\n
