(WAND) \u2013 The Los Angeles Queens made history Tuesday night after winning the Women\u2019s Pro Baseball League (WPBL) championship in the league\u2019s inaugural season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Los Angeles defeated the top-seeded San Francisco Firebells 2-0 to win the five-game championship series. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Ayami Sato pitched the league\u2019s first-ever complete game shutout and was named MVP of the series. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cHonestly, if I had started this season thinking about winning the finals, MVP or trying to make great plays for myself, I don\u2019t think I would have received this award. Instead, I focused on giving everything I had for my team and doing whatever I could to help us succeed. I believe that is what ultimately led to being named MVP,\u201d Sato said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">LA managed only two hits in the game, the fewest by a winning team during the season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The WPBL kicked off the season Aug. 1, and its four teams played every game at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The league said that around 70,000 fans attended games this season.
