This makes them the first champions of the league, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeforkids.com\/g56\/women-play-ball-g5\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">debuted<\/a> in August. <\/p>\n<p>The WPBL Championship was an exciting race between the Los Angeles Queens and the San Francisco Firebells. The best-of-five series was played at Robin Roberts Stadium, in Springfield, Illinois. The Queens came out strong, winning the first two games. But the Firebells fought back, winning the next two. It was all down to the final game. <\/p>\n<p>The Queens won in a 2\u20130 shutout. Their pitcher, Ayami Sato, played the entire game. She allowed no runs and only five hits.
