ASTORIA, Queens (WABC) — A man who was shot during an attempted robbery outside a club in Astoria early Thursday has died, police said.<\/p>\n

The victim, a man in his 40s, was shot in the back outside a gentleman’s club at 34 Steinway St. shortly before 3:40 a.m.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the shooting happened during an attempted robbery. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.<\/p>\n

Police said the suspect fled westbound on 35th Avenue in a white Mercedes-Benz SUV. He was last seen wearing a green Nike Tech sweatsuit.<\/p>\n

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
