A 24-year-old man died after being shot in McLaughlin Park in Downtown Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon, a rare burst of violence in an area that has seen only one other shooting this year.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to the park just after 2 p.m. for reports of a man shot. Orange evidence markers dotted the soccer field, where investigators said 24-year-old Jayde Browne was shot. Eyewitness Polina Istomina said she initially mistook the sound for something else. “I thought it was a big truck’s tires that blew up,” she said.
