Mapp as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success and Christine Mellampe as Executive Director of Human Resources.The appointments bring experienced leaders to two areas central to the College\u2019s continued growth and its Bronx Renaissance 2031 strategic plan: advancing enrollment and student success and supporting BCC\u2019s faculty and staff.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" data-id=\"156490\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1000103333.jpg\" alt=\"Bronx Community College Announces Two Key Leadership Appointments\" class=\"wp-image-156490\" title=\"Bronx Community College Announces Two Key Leadership Appointments\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mapp brings more than 20 years of higher education experience to BCC. She most recently served as Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, where she led enrollment and student success strategy across recruitment, financial aid, student services and persistence initiatives. Her previous leadership roles include positions at Arcadia University, Shippensburg University, Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cStudent success is enrollment management and enrollment management is student success,\u201d Mapp said. \u201cThey are both sides of the same coin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mapp will bring a data-informed approach to enrollment, retention and graduation while working closely with students, faculty and staff to better understand the experiences behind the numbers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMaya brings tremendous experience, energy and a genuine commitment to student success,\u201d BCC President Dr. Larry D. Johnson, Jr. said. \u201cWe are excited to welcome her to BCC and look forward to all that we will accomplish together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mapp will serve as Interim Vice President beginning September 28, 2026, pending formal approval by the CUNY Board of Trustees in October.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1000103332.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1992\" height=\"1992\" data-id=\"156491\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1000103332.jpg\" alt=\"Bronx Community College Announces Two Key Leadership Appointments\" class=\"wp-image-156491\" title=\"Bronx Community College Announces Two Key Leadership Appointments\"  \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mellampe joins BCC with extensive human resources leadership experience across higher education, mission-driven organizations and cultural institutions. She most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU and previously led human resources at the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, the Whitney Museum of American Art and Columbia University\u2019s Mailman School of Public <a href=\"https:\/\/bronx.com\/nurse-practitioner-takes-the-lead-as-best-healthcare-job-in-2024\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At BCC, Mellampe will focus on strengthening HR communications, employee engagement and partnerships across the College. \u201cOne thing I would be most proud of a year from now is when the community views HR as a trusted partner,\u201d Mellampe said. \u201cI believe that HR is in a really great position for culture change and culture building.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Mellampe, joining BCC is also a homecoming. Raised in <a href=\"https:\/\/bronx.com\/bronx-a-historical-record\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Bronx<\/a>, she was familiar with the College and its role in expanding access to education and opportunity.
