A New York City cat rescue group is bringing politics into pet ownership \u2014 by reportedly refusing to let anyone who is \u201cMAGA\u201d adopt their kitties.<\/p>\n

Animal lovers\u2019 claws came out Wednesday after Itty Bitty City Kitties<\/a> \u2014 a Rockaway Beach-based nonprofit specializing in orphaned kitten adoption \u2014\u00a0 posted a\u00a0lefty list of\u00a0requirements needed to take home one of their adorable furballs.<\/p>\n

\u201cMAGA? Nope.Conservative? Nope,\u201d it wrote in a Facebook post Tuesday<\/a>. \u2018I\u2019m not political?\u2019 Nice loophole. Still nope.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brooklyn kitten rescue Itty Bitty City Kitties shared their adoption policy against serving \u201cMAGA.\u201d Itty Bitty City Kitties \/ Facebook<\/p>\n

In a social media post reviewed by Fox News Digital, the rescue laid out a series of political positions it said could disqualify prospective adopters. Itty Bitty City Kitties \/ Facebook<\/p>\n

\u201cThese kittens are looking for homes with a tote bag collection, oat milk, an aggressively progressive group chat, a compost bin, NPR playing somewhere in the background, and someone who has rage-donated to mutual aid at least once,\u201d the post continues.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf your politics involve racism, bigotry, dehumanizing immigrants, or cheering on cruelty toward vulnerable people, please kindly f\u2013k right off.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cApplications are open for people whose values align with ours, and yes, references will be checked to make sure you\u2019re not a racist piece of s\u2013t,\u201d it declares.<\/p>\n

An accompanying image of a wide-eyed kitten declared, \u201cNO. F\u2013KING. MAGA.\u201d<\/p>\n

The bizarre, politically-fueled post gave animal rights advocates \u2014 well \u2014 paws, drawing criticism from the traditionally non-partisan group PETA.<\/p>\n

\u201cHomeless animals don\u2019t care which side of abortion you are on or whether you believe in global warming or support Palestine or Israel or if you don\u2019t vote at all, ever. They care if you love them and will give them a good home,\u201d PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk told Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope this policy, which is humancentric, is reconsidered and abolished.\u201d<\/p>\n

The post from Itty Bitty Kitties drew wider attention Tuesday after Libs of TikTok posted it<\/a> on X, prompting questions about whether the language represented the rescue\u2019s actual enforced adoption practices.<\/p>\n

Samantha Knox, the reported director of the nonprofit, defended the group\u2019s screening approach by saying it helps ensure the animals are in good care, according to Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an animal welfare rescue, our primary responsibility is ensuring the animals in our care go to safe, compassionate homes,\u201d Knox told the outlet.<\/p>\n

The organization is listed among New York state\u2019s registered pet rescues and bills itself as working to save \u201c the tiniest of orphan felines, neonatal infant kittens\u201d and\u00a0 \u201chelping them to grow and thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n
