Restaurateur Cobi Levy is turning his former SoHo restaurant at 199 Prince Street into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/itsromy.nyc\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ROMY<\/a>, an intimate steakhouse scheduled to officially open next Tuesday, September 29.<\/p>\n<p>Designer Rafael de C\u00e1rdenas has redone the room in oxblood and black lacquer, with burled wood, dark marble, bronze and artwork by George Condo. (Ordering a Martini here might briefly make you feel qualified to own a yacht.)<\/p>\n<p>Chef Lucrezia Stella, whose background includes her family\u2019s restaurants in Rome and a Michelin-starred kitchen on the Amalfi Coast, is giving the steakhouse menu room to roam. You can start with Kumamoto oysters and a cucumber\u2013green apple mignonette, tuna tartare with gochujang and pineapple or hamachi with leche de tigre, lemongrass and plum. For a full steakhouse entrance, the Kaluga caviar service comes with onion-chive dip and housemade potato chips for $150.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"9a337970-f840-95e8-1462-5be71d3319ed\" class=\"photo lazy inline\" loading=\"lazy\" data-component=\"lazy-embed\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1790323452_465_image.webp\" alt=\"Chips and caviar at ROMY.\" data-caption=\"Chips and caviar at ROMY.\" data-credit=\"Photograph: Joel Goldberg\" data-width-class=\"\" data-image-id=\"106450591\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\nPhotograph: Joel GoldbergChips and caviar at ROMY.&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The main event includes a 12-ounce Niman Ranch New York strip au poivre, a 20-ounce Westholme Farms Wagyu ribeye and a dry-aged Snake River Farms Wagyu porterhouse. Steak skeptics have options, too: there&#8217;s halibut with blood orange, lobster with sage-lemon butter and bucatini with San Marzano tomatoes and aged Parmesan. Sides run from thick-cut fries to broccolini with preserved-lemon harissa.<\/p>\n<p>The bar has its own restaurant pedigree. Miroo Kim, formerly of Atomix, is behind cocktails including a Brown Butter Carajillo and a Carrot Margarita. Adam Waddell of Eleven Madison Park and Spencer Choi-Schagrin of Jean-Georges lead the wine program.<\/p>\n<p>ROMY follows several Levy projects, including Lola Taverna and Cucina Alba.
