The two men from Queens were arrested Thursday evening, police said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Police say they were part of a group of six people that entered a sewer on Park Avenue near 61st Street early Wednesday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The incident triggered a large police response because it took place amid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/united-nations-general-assembly-security-plan-nyc-zohran-mamdani-nypd\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">heightened security measures<\/a> due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/protests-nyc-benjamin-netanyahu-israel-united-nations-speech\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">United Nations General Assembly<\/a>, with numerous dignitaries staying in the area where the incursion took place.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to the criminal complaint, the group of six entered the sewer at 1:38 a.m. Wednesday morning and were spotted on surveillance video returning to their vehicles at around 4 a.m. According to the complaint, police tracked the suspects down through their license plates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When questioned by police, the two told officers they were in the sewer system looking for valuables that get washed away during storms, according to the complaint.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, there has been yet another sewer intrusion Friday. Police say three men were spotted climbing out of a sewer at Bay Ridge Parkway and 17th Avenue around 4:30 a.m. No arrests have been made as yet in that incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>New York City and even\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/four-people-in-manhole-wantagh-long-island-nassau-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Long Island<\/a>\u00a0have seen a number of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/video-people-climbing-manhole-midtown-nyc\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">recent sewer-related incidents<\/a>.
