NEW YORK, Sept 25 (Reuters) – A strong nor’easter is \u2060expected \u2060to bring flooding, powerful wind \u2060gusts, heavy rain and rip currents to areas along the East \u200bCoast from Maine to Washington,\u00a0D.C., over the weekend. Upcoming shows in New York City and Massachusetts\u00a0where \u200cEd Sheeran, Alicia Keys and Lenny \u200cKravitz were scheduled to perform before tens of thousands of attendees were canceled due \u2060to weather.<\/p>\n
The \u2060governors of New York and New Jersey declared states of emergency \u200bin counties expected to see the worst of the storm, including New York City.<\/p>\n
“Take this storm seriously,” New York Governor Kathy Hochul said on X.<\/p>\n
\u2022 The Federal Aviation Administration said on Friday that\u00a0flights \u200bat all three major New York City-area airports\u00a0could be disrupted by strong winds.<\/p>\n
\u2022 American \u2060Airlines, \u2060JetBlue and United Airlines waived \u2060change fees \u200bfor eligible flights, encouraging customers to postpone\u00a0travel between Friday and Sunday in the Northeast.<\/p>\n
