<\/p>\nThe 1925 St. Petersburg landmark has reopened after years of renovations with more than 4,000 square feet of flexible event space.<\/p>\n
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla \u2014 The city of St. Petersburg has given new life to a historic landmark along the Deuces corridor.<\/p>\n
After closing for renovations in 2022, the Manhattan Casino has reopened.<\/p>\n
The two-story venue now offers more than 4,000 square feet of event space. The city says the two floors can host separate events at the same time, with capacity for up to 180 people for seated events or 300 people for auditorium-style seating.<\/p>\n

St. Petersburg City Councilman Corey Givens Jr. said the building is now a city facility available for the community to rent.<\/p>\n
“Whether it’s weddings, a conference \u2014 this is a multifaceted facility,” Givens Jr. said.<\/p>\n
The building has hosted generations of events and performances. During a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony, St. Petersburg Director of Arts, Culture and Tourism Celeste Davis said the building’s original purpose helped shape its latest use.<\/p>\n
“In 1925, Elder Jordan conceived of a dance hall, where you could hear music, dance and listen to live vocals from your favorite artist. What was it like when Louis Armstrong performed on this site? Ella Fitzgerald and James Brown came through to share their gifts to a welcoming community,” Davis said.<\/p>\n
“It’s more than just a building. This is a cultural hub. It’s a piece of our history,” Givens said.<\/p>\n
The city says the project received $1 million in state historic preservation funding, along with additional city funding.<\/p>\n
Givens also pointed to development happening nearby, including the Deuces Rising Townhomes.<\/p>\n
“Right across the street, you see the Deuces Rising Townhome. The mayor just announced over 100 units of affordable housing getting ready to go up right behind me,” Givens said.<\/p>\n
