In the remarks at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the priest said “God is nonbinary” and “God is trans,” framing the message within a service honoring transgender joy and resilience. The sermon by the Rev. Flourish Klink, an assistant priest at Christ & St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, was shared on X by The Dissenter on September 23. Viewers posted objections, disputing interpretations of Jesus’ identity and Mary’s description at birth. The clip reflects ongoing disagreements within Christian discourse.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A video of an Episcopal priest’s March 21 sermon in New York City circulated this week, drawing online…\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":358150,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[133421,132974,132975,9,24,55,54,56,133420],"class_list":["post-358149","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-new-york-city","tag-assistant-priest","tag-episcopal-priest","tag-flourish-klink","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-new-york-city-headlines","tag-new-york-city-news","tag-ny","tag-public-reception"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/358149","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=358149"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/358149\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/358150"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=358149"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=358149"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=358149"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
