China Southern Airlines celebrates two meaningful occasions on the giant LED screens of Times Square: the 70th anniversary of China Southern Airlines and the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most cherished holidays in Chinese culture.
For 70 years, China Southern Airlines has grown from its headquarters in Guangzhou into a global aviation network connecting people, businesses, cities and cultures around the world. Guided by its mission of “Enabling More People to Enjoy Better Flights” and its commitment to safety and customer service, China Southern continues to bring the world closer – one journey at a time.

That spirit of connection is especially meaningful during the Mid-Autumn Festival. For generations, families have gathered beneath the full moon to celebrate reunion, gratitude and togetherness. Wherever we may be, the festival reminds us of the enduring bonds of family, friendship and home.

And what better way to celebrate that spirit than through flight?

Starting from Guangzhou, China Southern has built bridges across continents. This year also marks the 12th anniversary of its direct New York-Guangzhou route. The airline also connects Guangzhou directly with Los Angeles, San Francisco, Toronto and Vancouver, while its network reaches 177 countries and more than 1,000 destinations.

Behind these connections is a modern fleet of 972 aircraft as of the end of 2025, including Boeing 787 and 777, Airbus A350 and A330, as well as C909 and C919 aircraft. In 2025, China Southern carried 174 million passengers, achieved a 91.01% on-time rate, and maintained more than 30 million consecutive hours of safe flight – reflecting seven decades of commitment to safety and reliability.

Through its “Gourmet Southern Airlines” initiative, China Southern brings regional cuisine, refreshed amenities, family-friendly activities and cultural touches onboard, making every journey more enjoyable and memorable.

Looking ahead, China Southern is flying toward a greener future through sustainable aviation fuel, fuel-efficient operations, waste reduction, carbon-footprint-labeled meals and biodegradable alternatives to single-use plastics.

As China Southern Airlines’ 70th anniversary and the Mid-Autumn Festival come together in Times Square, we celebrate a shared spirit of connection and reunion.

From Guangzhou to New York, from China to the world, every flight brings people closer. Happy 70th Anniversary to China Southern Airlines, and Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! May we continue connecting families, cultures and communities – and fly together toward a better future.

China Southern Airlines celebrates two meaningful occasions on the giant LED screens of Times Square: the 70th anniversary…

[37
9,24,63,122,124,123
post-358277","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-queens","tag-new-york","tag-new-york-city","tag-nyc","tag-queens","tag-queens-headlines","tag-queens-news
["GET
