The ceilings are high (over nine and a half feet), the layout is spacious (the couch and dining table have plenty of room to breathe, and you can fit a king bed), and the views are decent. The primary bedroom has built-ins and a walk-in closet; the second bedroom is smaller but could easily get you through at least kindergarten. The kitchen and bathroom are decently renovated, if monochromatic and unexciting. The virtual staging gives the listing photos an unusually nice glow, but as far as we can see, there are no major tricks, like an expiring tax abatement. The monthlies are $1,857 and get you in-building laundry, a live-in super, storage space, and access to the communal roof deck one flight up. The trade-off is the tiny pass-through kitchen with what looks like a one-person maximum capacity and a bedroom that doesn’t look like it can hold more than a dresser and a queen-size bed. The skylight adds some character to the mostly white bathroom. The maintenance fees are $1,828 a month, and they don’t get you much beyond the live-in super and shared laundry. It’s a duplex with a double-height window that brings pretty decent light into the living area upstairs, which is 21-feet deep. The renovated kitchen has been updated with stainless-steel appliances and nice quartzite countertops, although the cabinet space is tight. (The photos leave the sink situation a little unclear.) Downstairs is the bedroom with whitewashed exposed brick and a custom closet, although this is another dresser-only situation. There’s a bathroom on each floor, so you don’t have to run up and down the stairs every time you gotta go.
