Witnesses scooped him up and placed him in a Toyota Highlander driven by an unknown operator, who took him to Elmhurst Hospital and left him there.<\/p>\n<p>Hospital staff brought the man inside and, despite their efforts, the man could not be saved and was pronounced dead. Police have not yet released his identity, pending family notificaiton.\n<\/p>\n<p>Police sources said that the man did not have any visible signs of trauma. His body was transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.\n<\/p>\n<p>The investigation remains ongoing, police said.\n<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA).
