Mayor Zohran Mamdani<\/a> will visit \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a>\u201d when the ABC late night show performs in Brooklyn on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Hizzoner is slated to be joined by Staten Island native Pete Davidson and Brooklyn band TV On The Radio<\/a> at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.<\/p>\n

Mamdani came to Kimmel\u2019s defense<\/a> at this time last year by threatening to withdraw from an ABC town hall when Disney, the station\u2019s parent company, suspended the talk show host in the aftermath of the killing of right-wing pundit Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am withdrawing not as an indictment of the local affiliate or the hardworking journalists, but rather in response to the corporate leaders who have put their bottom line ahead of their responsibility in upholding the freedom of the press,\u201d then mayoral candidate Mamdani said<\/a> amid Kimmel\u2019s temporary suspension.<\/p>\n

He accused ABC executives of \u201ccowardice\u201d during a time he felt they should\u2019ve stood up to the Trump White House in \u201cthis moment of authoritarianism.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABC soon after reinstated Kimmel, prompting Mamdani \u2018s campaign to say the Democratic candidate was again amenable to working with the network.<\/p>\n

Kirk supporters had taken issue with Kimmel charging Republican politicians<\/a> with using the 31-year-old activist\u2019s death<\/a> to \u201cscore political points.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mamdani is part of a decidedly anti-Trump guest list joining Kimmel this week. That rundown includes Howard Stern<\/a>, Bruce Springsteen,<\/a> Sen. Bernie Sanders from Vermont along with Kimmel\u2019s TV counterparts, John Oliver and Seth Meyers.<\/p>\n

The Mayor was caught off guard by seeing seeing funnyman Ramy Youssef portray him on a \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d sketch over the weekend. The season premiere\u2019s cold opening took aim<\/a> at Mamdani\u2019s cordial relationship with Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was watching it live,\u201d Mamdani told reporters in Lower Manhattan. \u201cQuite an absurd experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sir Paul McCartney will close Kimmel\u2019s week in Brooklyn by appearing on the program Friday. Kimmel returns to Los Angeles next week.<\/p>\n
